IdeaKache ("we", "us", or "the site") is a curated collection of quotes, concepts, and stories. We're committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

What Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the site's functionality:

• Account information: Your email address and name via Clerk authentication when you sign in or sign up.
• Favorites: When signed in, the IDs of entries you've favorited are stored in our Supabase database.
• Soft-paywall counter: A small HTTP-only cookie (ik_anon_views) tracks how many entry pages anonymous visitors have opened, so we can prompt for sign-in after a free preview. The counter resets to zero once you sign in.
• Server logs: Our hosting infrastructure records standard access logs for every request, which may include request URLs (and therefore any search queries you submit) and error stack traces. When a new user signs up, the welcome-email handler also logs the recipient's email address so we can confirm the email was sent.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the site's core functionality:

• Authenticating you and persisting your favorites across devices
• Enforcing the anonymous-view soft paywall
• Operating, debugging, and improving the site
• Replying when you contact us

We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not use your data to train any AI model.

Data You Can Manage Yourself

Cookies

We use a single first-party cookie (ik_anon_views) for the soft-paywall counter. Clerk authentication may set its own session cookies when you sign in. We do not use any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

IdeaKache is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
